Grounds For Divorce

Wolf Parade - “Grounds for Divorce

With the way the music press tends to work, it’s easy to forget that truly excellent albums were released just a few years and are now probably collecting dust in the back of your iTunes catalogue. As luck would have it, while wasting time clicking around reddit the other night, I read a comment that reminded me of one of my favorite forgotten albums: Wolf Parade’s 2005 stunner Apologies to the Queen Mary.

Since then, I’ve listened to this album at least half-of-a-dozen times and am kicking myself for not listening to it more over the years. “Grounds for Divorce” is a wild song (which makes it both difficult to describe and perfect for the kind of Wednesday I’m already having), and easily one of my favorites on the album, although the top spot goes to the epic “I’ll Believe in Anything”.

Love Wolf Parade. Definitely my ‘cold weather’ music.
